Fernando is an SRS® recommended wool male whose fleece can only be described as exceptional.  It is soft handling and dripping with lustre. It is very uniform across the blanket and neck with a medium frequency, high amplitude crimp style in well defined bundles which cuts in excess of 6kgs and is on track to grow well in excess of 100mm in this, his seventh year.  On top of that it is fine and very soft handling - only 22.43 on his 6th shear, with a comfort factor of of 94.4%.  For the benefit of those interested in the SRS® breeding system he has a high skin follicle density of  63.4 and has only minimal primary fibre (see www.srs.alpacas.com for information about SRS®).   
Fernando comes from a great genetic background and is producing some stunning progeny many of whom can be seen on our farm or on this website in the Top Progeny pages which are part of our Breeding section.     Several of his sons have been certified and he is the sire of a number of broad ribbon winning alpacas including Honeyfields Sutherland who not only was the 2008 National Junior Male Champion but has no less than 17 championship broad ribbons to date.
