Choosing a stud male to mate to your female is a very important task. The resulting cria will only be as good as 50% of each of it’s parents. You already have half of the equation in your paddock – your female alpaca, it is the other half of the equation that you have a choice about. Talk to us if you want help and advice in selecting the male with the attributes which will best compliment the qualities your female already has.

Honeyfields offers a comprehensive stud service to Southland, Otago and beyond, on your farm or ours . We offer

Live cria or replacement mating guarantee. If, despite your best efforts your cria dies within 3 days of being born, we will provide a free remating
|

|
On farm matings. This includes free agistment of your female (and her cria if applicable) for up to 3 months of the time she is on our farm
|
|
|
Mobile matings on your farm at the same cost as our ‘on farm’ matings if you live within 200 kms of Te Anau. A small mileage charge will apply for distances greater than 200kms

Visiting Stud males
As well as the stud males for whom Honeyfields is home, a number of other top class studs will be visiting from time to time. It is anticipated that most of these will be available for outside matings in the Southland/Otago region. Once details and dates are known for visits of other stud males from around New Zealand, we will post details on our website.
